Make time to disconnect from your phones and technological devices and truly enjoy the moments in your life!
Do you every feel the need to be constantly plugged in to your devices is so over bearing that trying to relax in the evening is too difficult? We often fool ourselves by saying relaxing is equal to watching television, scrolling through social media on your phone, and surfing the web on your tablet simultaneously. Instead we are over stimulating ourselves and not allowing our bodies and minds to focus on one individual task.
Here are a few tips on how to relax and give your body and mind a much needed break from stress:
- Watch the sunset. Focus on the colors of the sky as they change, on the shades of reds and oranges in the powerful sun that provides this planet with life. Breath in deeply through your nose and breath out through your mouth. With each breath let go of bites of tension. It only take about 10 minutes of your day.
- Go to a park. Walk around and appreciate the trees. Bring your children with you and keep the devices at home or locked in the trunk of the car. Watch your children play, push them on the swing. Listen to the sounds of birds and reflect on the positive things in your life.
- Breath in the ocean. If you live near the coast this is a pleasure you can enjoy. Walk along the coast line and look out at boats passing by. Bask under the glowing heat of the Sun as it provides you with Vitamin D. Feel the sand with your hands or feet. Be cautious with sunbathing and take delight in it.
